There is not a particle of life which does not bear poetry within it. - Gustave Flaubert
Of interest: See the page on the bar above for the Progressive Poem's schedule of poets, hosted by Irene Latham at Live Your Poem.
And, see what many are doing for Poetry Month, by looking HERE at Jama Rattigan's post at Jama's Alphabet Soup.
My goal for Poetry Month: A haiku diary that may include other forms related to haiku, like haibun, haiga. monoku or renga. I have enjoyed studying about and writing in these forms in past Aprils and alongside other's who've given a challenge in this form. And, I look forward to seeing what parts of this month I will choose to collect in a diary. My first poem speaks of why I am handwriting the poems.

Your image of escaping down a backroad evokes strong images for me.
ReplyDeleteI still live in the city, but know roads that pass by large parks, and that's what happened this time, Glenda. A beautiful hawk flew in circles overhead. Thanks!
DeleteLinda, I think your handwritten poems are charming. This one speaks of the calm of solitude away from the crowds. Need you to think about this=>please save your April Poem One for a spring gallery. Do you like the title Color Me Springtime?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol, I am enjoying the month for myself and then reading others' creations, too. Yes, I'll save that first poem for you. "Color Me Springtime" is just right. We are all looking for and celebrating color this April!
DeleteI love the contrast between the crowded urban life and the solitude of back roads. There is a lot going on in our lives right now, but I am still managing to write a poem a day! I'm so glad that you inspired me to take this challenge.
ReplyDeleteHere is my post for today. http://dickenslibrary.blogspot.ca/2018/04/0830-poem-day-challenge.html
Thanks, Cheriee, I'm so glad you're taking this challenge too. I had just been on so many errands, and loved sneaking onto those back roads, then got the gift of that wonderful hawk.
DeleteOn the country roads I drive to schools, I often see hovering hawks. They like to be in poems.
ReplyDeleteYes, taking those open places gives them a clearer view. Thanks, Margaret.
