Creating from my bookshelves

            For the last three years, Travis Jonker at his blog, 100 Scope Notes, now at School Library Journal, posts the annual book spine poetry gallery.  Poets, including me, from all over the world send him photos of their book spine poems and Travis creates a slide show of them all.  You can find it to view here.

       I decided to write a quick autobiography,  taking a cue from the book on top.  Enjoy, and write your own!  I created a new page (above) with all the poetry links.

Encyclopedia of an ordinary life

day by day
the passionate observer
a trail through leaves
girlfriends
book love

teaching with fire

    Linda, great glimpse of you! I love the autobiography focus. My bookshelves are still a mess from monkeying around with spine poetry last month. Something Permanent - I love that book!

      Yes, it is. The Encyclopedia of An Ordinary Life gave me the idea. It's a lovely book!

    You have picked the books and packed your life awesomely. I wonder what books would make my autobiographical book spine poem. I wish to read the Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life.

      Thanks, Terje. I've read about half of that book, & had to stop because of other reading I had to do. It's so clever! I hope you will enjoy it!

    I seem to be missing out on quite a lot of April Poetry activities this year! :( I missed out on the progressive poetry poem too. Perhaps it isn't too late to join in the book spine fun. :) hopefully before this month ends.
