DeleteI might have to borrow this celebrate format! My favorites - teachers having joyful moments, and ease, restful evenings. I want to know more about the Ghostly Tales Reader's Theatre.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ramona. We have a group of short classes that kids can choose from and attend two mornings a week, and one of those this past quarter was a reader's theater/drama class. They had a performance Wed. night that was awesome, sharing ghostly tales, like some scary stories, words from Dracula, etc. It's always fun to see kids be so excited and show their stuff so beautifully.

DeleteI am not sure that it was intentional, but I couldn't help but notice the alliteration in each line of your acrostic. Your voice is so grounded in poetry that it seems so natural here. Lots of great reasons to celebrate--being a former cross country coach, I am particularly pleased about your cross country news!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christy-I didn't work too much on it, but perhaps my writing is 'seeping' into the words! We have a new pe teacher who is so wonderful and is doing so much good with our students. She works hard, has other teachers doing ass't coaching, running, volleyball, and so on. They've been running since two weeks before school started-7th & 8th graders!

DeleteI love this idea of using an acrostic poem to share the small celebrations. I love egg salad and do not have it very often...that would be a treat to celebrate for me as well.

DeleteIt looks like many others have said it already, but I also enjoyed the acrostic idea for this. It made me smile as soon as I scrolled down enough to see that was what you were doing. Then once I was reading, I enjoyed seeing the blend of aspects you were celebrating.
