Having cake and eating it too!

Thanks to Ruth Ayres at DiscoverPlayBuild,  for beginning a Saturday tradition, of sharing our little celebrations, small and large.   It's a good time reading what others share.  Tweet at #celebratelu.

Discover. Play. Build.
                                          I'm writing with photos today:

Saturday I received this in the mail!

Sunday, the grand-girls played outside, mostly scuffling leaves and  playing with sticks.

Monday, I caught a late sunset photo from my back porch.

Tuesday was my daughter's birthday.  She's not six anymore, but still the same sweet, kind and clever girl she always was.
Thursday I took my car to those wonderful, independent mechanics I wrote about last Tuesday.  The wires are "mightily" protected, the 'platform' is now covered in what are called "bird stakes"--BUNNIES BEWARE!  A friend brought me this piece of carrot cake to help celebrate.  Hurrah for creative problem-solvers!

Next Wednesday, I'm flying to Boston for the NCTE Convention!  For those of you who will be there,  let's try to meet!

It was a very nice week.  My school's auction is tonight.  It'll be a good time, too!

Happy Celebrating Everyone.  And Ruth thanks again for this, and again!

  1. Dear Linda,
Your pictures just made me smile. It's evident how special your family is to you and I'm so glad your car got fixed. Carrot cake is my all time favorite cake. I hope it was delicious. (I don't know if I would have remembered to take a picture before I ate it). :)

  7. So many great celebrations to light up each day this week! Just saw a news story of pit bulls who chewed up a car, made me think of the bunnies. :-)

    1. Oh my, pit bulls! I imagine it was 'inside' the car, but who knows what will happen when animals are in need. Thanks Elsie!

With the sunset picture, it almost looks like the trees are on fire. It made me happy that you were able to spend time with your grand-girls!
