Live It Up!

        So, it was a good week, a full week, but a three day weekend is something to celebrate for everyone SO tired even though they recently had a long winter break. We all decided coming back into the 'swing' of school is more tiring than starting school. Reminds me of a marching band getting back into their cadence, practice helps, but still…  

        And I'd like to start with a thought for Dr. Martin Luther King, someone I am glad to have known as a part of my living history, and feel sorrowful for his too early death.  He is quoted as saying: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

•        My week with teachers held good conversations. 
•        I began a book group reading Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. 
•        I gave a non-fiction book talk for a group of older intermediate students.
•        I hosted my writing group; energy abounds!
•        Planned our Newbery Celebration for THE day of awards announced! 
•        Wrote with one older class practicing for the "slice of life".
•        Worked with three young primary students in expanding their writing. 
•         I saw the opening of the Intermediate School play Thursday evening, which was terrific!
•        And, I loved the sky. If you are on Facebook with me, you understand. I have amazing views nearly every evening from my sofa. Here's one!

 

      

           My grand girls are coming to visit most of the day today, and the oldest will spend the night.  I may post a picture later.  They will play and play, we'll read and read, then  I'm sure ice cream will be enjoyed somewhere in the day!  Always time to celebrate ice cream.  Do you know the silly verse: I scream/you scream, we all scream/for ice cream?
