Two Weeks-Good Stuff

Thanks to Ruth Ayres, we also get to share our celebrations with others every Saturday. Check HERE for the links. And tweet at #CelebrateLu

The celebration of beauty is an invitation to ask your soul everyday, 'mind if I join you'

I didn't post last week because...
I was celebrating:

School started, and so did my granddaughter Ingrid
 in kindergarten at my school.
Her little sister Imogene came along to see her off!

My son, daughter-in-law and grandson Carter-here last weekend!
I finished organizing the books on the large shelves in my office.
This is one side; below is the other end.

I took more morning walks and found neat things to photograph.

I've nearly finished with a book group with some of the older students, I've started conversations with quite a few different colleagues, made plans in the next weeks for other meetings. It's terrific to have some new goals for giving support to those I work with.

And, I've started an online poetry group/class with people from different places, fitting in the lessons and interactions early in the morning or late at night. I've already learned so much, and written several new poems, identified some older poems I'm going to revise with the new things I've learned to look for. Exciting!
Have a wonderful weekend, and good celebrations next week, too!

  1. Linda, I am glad that you have much to celebrate this week. May I add one more celebration for you. While I was reading Poetry Friday offerings, I came across your "Summer Song" poem and would like to post that one with your other one you sent in the Summer Serenity Gallery. I will send you the copy.

    1. Remember that I'm only working part-time, Deb, although sometimes it feels like full-time. My hours are less than most of you. I loved hearing all about your twitter excitement!

  4. I like your choice of basket color - nothing boring. Time with family is rich of color too. It must feel exciting to have your granddaughter in your school. You know it's a great place, plus you are close.

    1. I love the color too, Terje, but mostly it had to do with what was on sale! It is great to have Ingrid at school!

  7. I love the twirling, smiling face on your granddaughter as she started school! Sadly, we have not yet started school due to the teacher's strike. Wonderful that you were able to organize your shelves - this must feel VERY good! Love the family sitting around that VERY long table! (what a great table!) Wonderful celebrations this week, Linda!

    1. I check the news every day for you and Carrie, Adrienne, hoping for good news! It was fun to do the organization, but still need to weed out some of those books that really aren't being used. Surely there's someone who will need them? Thank you!

    2. I forgot to mention that the table is at a local (and favorite) beer garden-child friendly, good food!

  11. Oh the joy of starting school! I feel just like Ingrid every year. :) I loved seeing in your office. I noticed a copy of Fredrick by Leo Lionni at the front of one of your baskets. I love that book.

    1. Thanks Ramona, fun to finally put the books in special order. I know you must still be going through boxes, don't know what I'll do when I finally leave? You are my inspiration! Yes, the shadow is a rail fence in a park nearby. Thanks for the wishes, hope you do, too!

  16. Those girls are precious! What a reason to celebrate! And having the rest of the family nearby is just as special. I am intrigued by the table at which you are all sitting. I love the narrow width of it. I also love the photos from your walk and your office shelves. Being the beginning of the year, I am struck by how much time it takes just to get organized!

    1. The table is at a nearby beer garden, Christy, a favorite restaurant that's child friendly. They can play around, like other kids there, so we go often. It is good to spend the time being organized, gets me started with the year, too! Thanks for coming by! I hope your year is going well so far!
