Still writing haiku and haiku-related poems. Mother Nature has rewarded me with a variety of topics, mostly spring flowers, insects, birds, and YES, snow! As I'm typing, the report says : heavy snow/rain mix, through Friday.
Some of us are sharing on twitter with the hashtag #DigiPoetry, created by Margaret Simon, of Reflections on The Teche. You're welcome to join us. Find the many Poetry Month offerings rounded up by Jama Rattigan at Jama's Alphabet Soup.

I drove home from teaching class last night in a blizzard! Holy cow!
ReplyDeleteNever dull around here! Now this am, it's raining. Don't know if snow will return. The plants need it, but wow! Glad you made it home!
DeleteI'm glad I'm only experiencing the snow through your haiku this month. I am glad spring has sprung here in Indiana.
ReplyDeleteI think this storm is traveling south, Kay, lucky for all of you in the east. Thanks!
DeleteI think old man winter just wants you to write poems about him. He shouldn't muscle in on April's springtime warmth. Like the "insight-inside" thingy. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! So, so right, Jama. I guess I am grateful, at least for the wet! Thanks!
DeleteYay for warm afghans! Glad you are patient about the snow :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd now, by this afternoon, nearly all of it is melted and the sun returns. All will be very green after this. Thanks, Tabatha.
DeleteI can totally relate to these, Linda...we had crocuses popping up a few days ago, then 3 inches of dense wet snow fell on top of 'em!
ReplyDeleteIt is never a dull moment in April. I hope the crocuses are going to pop back soon, Matt. Thanks!
DeleteLove your choice of the word "inconstant" - perfect! I hope you are cozy and warm inside this evening.
ReplyDeleteThanks, the sun finally appeared later today, & it's already warmer. Cozy it is,Robyn.
DeleteLinda- I agree with Robyn on the word "inconstant." That word certainly describes the weather around here! I really enjoyed your haiku!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. Our changes are fairly surprising.
DeleteSending you warmth, Linda! "Afghan waiting" is the perfect line!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bridget, every day's a new day!
DeleteThis might be the first spring in memory that we don't get snow on the blooming forsythia! (knock wood!!!!)
ReplyDeleteI think you've already had your winter snow--times two! I hope this is our last, then some rain would be nice! Thanks, Mary Lee.
DeleteFor you it's "afghan waiting" (love that line!), for us, bikini season has arrived... but not for me, of course!
ReplyDeleteJust saw this, Michelle. I understand, & the heat here is coming too. No bikini for me either!
DeleteThat afghan looks perfect for curling up in on a snowy day! It seems that spring might finally be here to stay. (Fingers crossed!)
ReplyDeleteWe can have snow easily until Mother's Day, & April is our 2nd snowiest month. This time, it was lovely, one day, lots of moisture & melted!
DeleteDo you usually get this much snow this time of year? I'm enjoying the beauty of spring and hoping snow will remain a distant memory.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I hope no more, but yes, we can get snow for a while longer, Cathy. Just happens, moisture up from the gulf, cold down from Canada. We do need the wet, always wish it was just a rainy day.
