Celebrating Every Day

I celebrate each Saturday with Ruth Ayres at Discover Play Build - It's a close community that celebrates together. Come join us!          Tweet at #CelebrateLu

It's rather lovely to find just the words for this Saturday Celebration.  I didn't write them, but sure wish I had.

"Jet" by Tony Hoagland

and it is good, a way of letting life
out of the box, uncapping the bottle
                 to let the effervescence gush
through the narrow, usually constricted neck.

The week flew, ending today with an absolutely wonderful thing,  meeting Penny Parker Klostermann this morning IN PERSON, and helping her celebrate her book at a local favorite bookstore, The Bookies. She is a blogger friend and I've loved reading her blog, wrote a guest post with Ingrid recently that was lots of fun to create. You can find the post here

The week began with a mountain hike, looking for the golden views of aspen, Ingrid and Imi
loving the challenges of rock-climbing. That evening we sat at a nearby park to watch that spectacular super/blood/moon with a full lunar eclipse. I wouldn't have missed watching no matter the time.
I'm proud of myself for finally finally signing up again with Curves. There is one very near, and I just haven't taken the time to do so. I did this exercising before I moved, and loved it. It will be great for me in addition to walking. And, Monday morning I'll be meeting with the volunteer coordinator at a nearby favorite used bookstore to see what times are available for me to volunteer my time to them. Now if I can only refrain from purchasing!!
There was an offer from the alternative teaching program with whom I am working (mentoring the new young teacher-to-be at my school) to participate in a mentoring/coaching institute, which I did on Thursday and Friday. It was a joy to meet and talk with so many interesting teachers, coaches, principals, and museum educators in this group. I took a class in cognitive coaching a few years ago, but it was long enough ago that I felt this would be a great refresher, and it was!
It felt like a full week, and I'm looking forward to another, and my brother, sister-in-law and niece will be here a week from today, to spend a long weekend and to help me celebrate my birthday.

I'm anticipating a sweet October! And I hope all of you are, too!

  7. And I thought you were retired! But this is exactly what I would do too! Well...maybe not the rock climbing! Have a restful weekend after all that.

    1. Thanks, Leigh Anne, I just read and celebrated your post, too! It was a busy week, and it's been a slow-going Saturday too, except for meeting Penny!

  8. I used to exercise at Curves. It closed and now I am at a gym with men and women. I like the discipline of classes but miss the ease of hopping in for a quick 30 minutes anytime.
You do keep busy. Be careful or every organization is going to snatch you up as a volunteer.

    1. I've enjoyed my time there so far, & glad I finally returned. Sorry you don't have a choice, Margaret. I think I've made my choices & that will be it for a while. I want to leave plenty of time for writing and for spending time with the granddaughters! Thanks!

  10. Linda, you had a busy week of enjoyable celebrations. I checked out what you submitted to Penny and wrote this response: "Finally catching up with posts, Penny. I do enjoy your series and always love reading what Linda writes." Ingrid is very detailed oriented in her drawings. Rock climbing - interesting!

  11. Love your collage of pics, a return to Curves (ours closed several years ago and I miss it), the pics in the mountains, and volunteering at a bookstore. And now the excitement of family coming for a visit and an upcoming b-day. What a splendid week!
