SOL16 #27/31 -
I'm slicing with the Two Writing Teachers community for Day Twenty-Seven of Thirty-One of the Slice of Life Challenge in March. Thank you Stacey, Tara, Anna, Betsy, Dana, Kathleen, Beth, and Deb. My family is coming for brunch. I know it will be a good day.
I know spring is coming even with snow still on the ground and more sure to come, because indoors my Hoya camosa (wax plant) is blooming, and the aroma fills the house like a candle lit. This plant grows all seasons, but does not bloom until spring One day, I look up to water it (on a top shelf sits this viney plant), and there is a bloom. If I'm lucky, there's more. Not this time, but perhaps soon?

Whatever you do, wherever you are, I wish you a lovely day, and a Happy Easter to those who celebrate it.
What a lovely surprise! I get so excited when infrequently blooming plants bloom!
ReplyDeleteIt is always a surprise, one day no bloom, and then there it is!
DeleteThat is a nice surprise, and a plant that I am not at all familiar with. The blooms are simple, yet pretty. Nice, light, springy post. Thank you. maribethbatcho
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Have a lovely day!
DeleteHow beautiful! I hope you enjoy your day as well - it sounds perfectly lovely!

Thanks, Clare.
DeleteWow! You just ID'd my mystery plant. I have one of these at home, though mine does not seem to blossom on a seasonal schedule. Perhaps I just need to pay attention and I'll see the pattern. (Or perhaps I need to water it more than once in a very great while.) Thanks and enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you discovered the name! Thanks, Molly.
DeleteBeautiful plant. I don't think I've seen one before. Such a fitting time for it to bloom. Praying you and your family have a blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy, and you as well!
DeleteFamily over for brunch. You will have a great day. Happy Eater!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terje. I hope your day has already been a good one.
DeleteHappy Easter, Linda, to you and your family. A day spent with family---nothing better.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, and the same to you, Bob. Thanks!
DeleteHappy Easter to you Linda! What a cool plant! I've never seen one before. Enjoy your brunch with family.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elsie, the plant is one I've had a long, long time, drapes over that shelf I mentioned. Happy Easter to you, too.
DeleteWhat a beautiful flower! And that it smells too! I have to get myself one of these plants. Happy Easter to you as well Linda!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn, yes, it smells wonderful!
DeleteWhat a cool plant! I don't know this plant at all. Now I will need to go hunting - a Easter hunt for a new plant! Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteI know you will love it, Joanne, plant-lover that you are! Hope your day is good, too!
DeleteBeautiful plant! I love little hints that spring is on the way. Have a happy day w/ your loved ones.
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenda, hope your day has been lovely too. Everyone just left for home. It was a happy day for sure.
DeleteLove seeing your plant and the blooms just before and then in full bloom. Hope you've had a fun day with family and enjoyed a lovely Easter brunch. We're headed to daughter and sil's place for Easter dinner.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time, Ramona. Yes, we had hours together today and enjoyed it very much. Now I'm reading and commenting, then doing a few other chores. Happy Easter.
DeleteHappy Easter to you & your family, Linda. Yes, snow on the ground, Easter sunrise service at the park, traditional service later, brunch out--and a nap! We had our family stuff last night. :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a nice day, Jane. Our big sunrise service was canceled this year for the first time in a long while. I know many were disappointed. Happy Easter to you, too.
DeleteWhat a beautiful picture! I hope you had a blessed day. I enjoyed brunch with my extended family. It was lovely!
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear you had a good day, too, Ana. Sunday brunch is such a lovely time.
DeleteHappy Easter Linda! What a beautiful looking plant!
