SOLC17 14/31 Thanks for the March Slice of Life challenge with the Two Writing Teachers community for Day Fourteen of Thirty-One of the Slice of Life Challenge in March. Thank you, Stacey, Beth, Deb, Betsy, Lanny, Kathleen, Lisa, and Melanie.
Leigh Anne Eck at A Day In The Life has invited us to a virtual Five Favorite Things Party where we share our five favorite things and why they are special to us.
You can read the details here and participate on your blog. Lots of people are going, so come join us! Leigh Anne was nice to share that I wrote about the original "favorite things parties", but I was only honored to be invited. It's a friend of mine that deserves the credit! Read my post if you think you'd like to host your own favorite things party at home. Leigh Anne has cleverly moved the idea for blogging. This is great fun!
I haven't read everyone's posts to discover exactly what is being brought to the party, but I do know that there will be lots of pens and paper there. I thought I'd just borrow some pages if I wanted to write or draw. It's still winter, and cold in the evenings, so I thought we'd need some things that are sure to be warming. . .
Like a candle.
Or the softest fleece comforter. There's also a bowl of Cadbury creme egg minis. |
I love apples and hope that others like them too. |
Fresh flowers every week brighten my days, so thought a bouquet of them would add to our celebration, too. |
Reminds me of Oprah's favorite things, but simpler and without the hefty price tags attached. Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd forgotten about Oprah. She really did give away some amazing things, didn't she? Thanks!
Delete.... and I bet you have some poetry books with you too. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, certainly, Terje. I always have one with me! Ha! Thanks!
DeleteI need to get ready for this party; I'm running late. Love your picture gallery of favorites. I need to treat myself to flowers more often!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to come, Margaret! And you have those gorgeous flowers outside already! I'll look for you!
DeleteI love your additions to the party! Candles and flowers are a must! It would be interesting to see how this party would change if we were to have it in the summer! Thanks for starting this fun activity. I have enjoyed the new kind of connections this has brought to slicing.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for extending the celebration, Leigh Anne. I can't wait to tell my friend about it.
DeleteCadbury mini eggs AND apples?!?!? Two of my favorites! YAY!!! Linda's coming to the party!
ReplyDeleteThis is pure fun, Michelle. On my way!
DeleteThat fleece. I'll trade you my pillows for a chance to snuggle under that fleece. :) This has been a fun connection. Thanks Leigh Anne!
ReplyDeleteYes, that fleece comforter is so soft and warm. It's the loveliest winter thing!
DeleteRight now I could use a touch of Spring so those flowers are a welcome sight. We cut some of our daffodils and brought them in yesterday so that we could enjoy them today.
ReplyDeleteI had daffodils (from the store) last week, and do love having flowers to remind me of what's coming. Glad to hear about yours, Bob.
DeleteA cozy fleece blanket, flowers, and Cadbury eggs! This party just gets better and better with each new attendee.
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge candy eater, but love these little eggs. The fleece is a wonder for winter!
DeleteA beautiful collection, Linda - that bowl of apples looks like a still life painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tara. I do love apples, and the bowl is a gift from my daughter-in-law.
DeleteIt's fun to see everyone's favorite things. Simple things make us happy. Now, I think I will head to my fridge for an apple, yours looked so good.
ReplyDeleteI really love apples, think they keep me healthy! Enjoy yours, Elsie.
DeleteYou certainly brought some lovely (and yummy) things to this party!! Such fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Krista. It's a fun exercise to do.
DeleteSuch a sweet idea for a party! Your five things set the mood for great writing! I would need a cup of tea...but what would I give up? Fun to think about!
ReplyDeleteFive is a 'very' low number, I agree. This time I imagined someone else bringing some drinks! Thanks, Maureen.
DeleteWhat fun! That fleece comforter looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Catherine. It is wonderful! I imagine you in the snow zone would enjoy it a lot.
DeleteLinda, this virtual party idea is wonderful. Thanks for sharing so that Leigh Anne could bring the party to the slicers via a virtual platform. I like that you have fresh flowers brightening up your home each week.
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by, Carol. I hope you'll come to the party!
DeleteThis is shaping up to be a great party. Warm and welcoming!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll join in, Donna, or have I missed you?
DeleteI love candles and fleece blankets. It's going to be a great party!
ReplyDeleteYep, and I agree, Amy. Thanks for all you're bringing, too!
