#NPM17 - 2/30 - Point of View

"There is not a particle of life which does not bear poetry within it."
                                                          Gustave Flaubert 1821-1880

National Poetry Month!

Other things of interest:  See the page on the bar above for the Progressive Poem's schedule of poets, hosted by Irene Latham at Live Your Poem.
And, see what many are doing for Poetry Month, by looking HERE at Jama Rattigan's post at Jama's Alphabet Soup.
Bridget Magee and her family have started a project in response to the chaos happening in our government. Go HERE to find out about it, to see how you can help!

My goal for Poetry Month: TINY THINGS. My choices may surprise you, but I'm excited to write, share, and read how everyone writes to meet their special goals for celebrating poetry month.

        In Each Mind’s Eye
I’m a baby elephant and tiny.
Don’t laugh, you’ll see. It’s true
that when you greet my mama,
it depends on point of view.

    1. Truly, I will do the "other" definition of tiny, but it is all about POV, isn't it? Thanks, Mary Lee.

  2. Ha! Tiny is certainly a matter of perspective! Nice surprise. Love the picture, too. xo

  3. I saw the pic before I read your poem. You surprised me. I expected the poem to be about some small animal in the grass, but the POV is what really matters as tiny baby elephant pointed out.

  4. POV is relative. I loved seeing elephants this summer in Africa, and one of my students raised money to adopt an orphaned elephant.
