Happy Valentine's Day and welcome to Poetry Friday to celebrate our sweetest day where, yes, hearts are everywhere, even in Peeps. I find them all over my home and am happy to share some old-fashioned Valentines given to my mother-in-law years ago.
Your post is full to the brim with Valentine Love, as is your "At Days End" Valentine poem <3 And–yes to "Celebrate always!" I especially like the Valentine Line poem–lots of Loveliness here, Happy Valentine's Day Linda! xo
Be my Valentine, Linda! Thanks for hosting and for sharing all these warm and happy treasures. I enjoyed the little fishing verse, and your poem even more. Here's to hearts! XO
Happy Valentine's Day! I'm sending you some sugary love (but, eww...heart peeps just don't do it for me). But, the birdie Valentine does...and so does the poem. I hope you get to spend some time with your littlest luvs tomorrow. Thanks for hosting this week. I look forward to catching up with some sweetness.
Valentine's Day is such a sweet holiday that should be filled with love. Your sweetness has filled the page with sweet reminders, Linda. I should take out my collection of antique and vintage valentines. Last week, Sierra and I created paper valentines made out of red heart dollies, just like I did with her Mommy when she was little. Happy Valentine's Day, Linda. I left you a winter haiku at last week's post but it could be meant for Valentine's Day, too.
And here's a valentine for you, Linda: https://www.flickr.com/photos/junibears/47084637321/in/dateposted/ Thank you for being our PF matchmaker today. Love your skinny poem!
Those vintage Valentine cards are wonderful. They made me think back to long-ago hand-created Valentine cards. The cards exchanged these days by kids make me sad. There's no thought or effort involved and typically they're so commercial--based on the newest movie or game. I miss the days of doilies and blotchy glue marks (said the old lady). Thanks so much for hosting today and for sharing your delightful Valentine. Love the title!
I have read your poem over and over. I love how thin and yet how full it is all at once. Your hearts are making me think about the beautiful doily heart valentines my mom just made for all of the children she reads to in schools. Love is for sharing, and you share so much of it. Thank you for hosting, Linda! xx
Love your poem, Linda! I've posted a favorite poem of mine at Wild Rose Reader: Valentine for Ernest Mann by Naomi Shihab Nye. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
I love your sweet valentine poem and the vintage cards you shared. The golden card with the girl and boy is the standout one for me. How fun that you're discovering hearts all around your home! Thanks for hosting and Happy Valentine's Day, Linda!
Happy Day, Linda! And thanks for hosting. I actually posted two posts ... one yesterday, one today, in case folks have time to visit both. There is something about Valentine's Day that makes one think of vintage hearts and poems, so I followed that thread. I love to think of your home strewn with Valentines!
Happy Valentine's Day, Linda. Love your vintage Valentines and the skinny poem you created. A home strewn with Valentines is a wonderful image. And I recognize Christie's art (Celebrate Always) since I have one just like it in yellow on my bulletin board. Thanks for hosting on this special day. And I love your skinny poem!
Thanks, Cheriee & Leigh Anne, I had many, given to me a long time ago by my mother-in-law, from her teaching days, & I say 'had' because I've now given them all to my brother for his antique store. Pictures remain. Those old ones are special, I agree.
I loved seeing all the Valentines, and your poem belongs inside a very special card. Happy Valentine's Day, Linda! xo
