It's April. It's Poetry Month!
Remember to check out the list of what everyone is doing at Jama Rattigan's blog: Jama's Alphabet Soup.
And check on the Water Poem Project where every day, a poet is sharing a prompt connected to water, hosted and created by Laura Shovan!
Plus! Check each day for the added line to the Progressive Poem, created by Irene Latham, now hosted by Margaret Simon! Link is above!
TIME TO CELEBRATE POETRY!
I'm taking a leap with the theme of CIRCLES for poetry month, poems & small sketches. I am looking forward to reading everyone's posts. I'm sure I will love each one, knowing they're done during a time we've not lived before. Best wishes for continuing good health to you all!
Here's number two, a cinquain
all wait
for spring blooming,
something to celebrate,
a harvest to anticipate,
needed
Love that! Yes, it is needed, and we are heavy with anticipation!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to good news always! Thanks, Jane!
DeleteYes, the blooming of spring will be especially appreciated this year.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Thanks, Catherine!
DeleteWe all need something to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteYes we do, and I look for the little things!
DeleteLoving walking the streets of Park Hill (ok, not today) and seeing everything starting to bloom- so far I have seen crocuses, daffodils, grape hyacinths, and even a few tulips!
ReplyDeleteI know, there is blooming everywhere. The snow gave good moisture so more will pop up now! Thanks, Carol. spring happens no matter what!
DeleteI feel like I have never anticipated spring in quite this way before! The latest snow was so beautiful, but made me cranky as snow never does because I know my favorite hikes will be too muddy to walk for days now! Needed is the perfect word to end this cinquain.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elisabeth, I hope you're wrong & our 'warming up' dries them out fast! It was nice to have the snow, but what a surprise!
DeleteYes! Spring seems even more needed this year. I am beyond grateful that new life is bursting forth outside my window as so much is locked down and isolated It's not quite so lonely.
ReplyDeleteSomeone else wrote about that idea, that nature's beauty leaves us less alone. I am grateful, too. Thanks, Kay!
DeleteThis looks so lovely, Linda. Making good use of those woodcut circles!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kat. It was a fun one to do because it was from nature!
