Thanks for hosting this final Friday of April, of Poetry Month, Matt Forrest Esenwine, whom you'll find at Radio, Rhythm, & Rhyme taking time to share some who've written in a new form of poetry titled a "tri-cube" Matt shared it a couple of weeks ago. Here's one for him:
having fun
with rhythm
plus rhyming
writing with
his children,

from Dad, (he’s
learning, too!)

Remember to check out the list of what everyone has been doing at Susan Bruck's blog: Soul Blossom Living!
Plus! Check each day for the added line to the Progressive Poem, created by Irene Latham, now hosted by Margaret Simon! The link is to the right! I am looking forward to reading the finish today, by Michelle Kogan! What a wonderful idea Irene started and Margaret has continued! And thanks to everyone for creating another gem.
TIME TO CELEBRATE POETRY!
I have tried, most times, to create from a Wabi-Sabi perspective. I believe that at times, I created something close. Diane Mayr was kind enough to send me the book by Leonard Koren titled Wabi-Sabi, for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers, which I've read all or part of every day since I received it. I am grateful for it and the thoughtful gift from Diane. Yes, it helped me work for understanding. It is something I'll keep pondering, wandering into this new world.
Thanks to every poet who wrote, whose poems I enjoyed every day. I didn't get to all every day, but many, and it made the bumpy weather road called April a lovely month.
This poem is perfect for today, Linda! April has been a whirlwind, but I am "grieving this departure." The good news is there are always more poems to read and write! I'm sorry I missed so many of your poems this week, but I'm looking forward to catching up with them this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful poem...the sadness of goodbye to make way for new. My goodness, that really embodies wabi-sabi (or, at least my understanding of it thus far). Beautifully written.
ReplyDeleteI was inspired by both you and Diane this month and responded to her project and yours. Poetry month is so fun. I will miss it.
I loved your postings this month, here and on Facebook. Thank you! And thank you for what a generous and kind commenter you are, always.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of creating from a place of Wabi-Sabi. I find that focusing on the joy of the act of creating, rather than the result, is really freeing creatively. Thanks for sharing your poems.
ReplyDeleteI'm honored that you tried a tricube - and my kids & I were the subject! Thank you, Linda! And what a thoughtful haiku, as well - this year has given us much to contemplate and it's wodnerful to now be in the season of renewal.
ReplyDeleteFun tricube, Linda! And you captured the renewal in departures..."Hello! tomorrow". :)
ReplyDeleteYou tricube is fun and I cannot wait to give this a try, Linda! Thanks for sharing. I also want to know if you photo of the common milkweed at the end of your post is from today? It looks so mature and is so early in the season! Thanks, Carol at The Apples in the Orchard.
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone. I'm trying to read a few posts, then garden on this lovely day, then off to the bookstore again! Carol, no, the milkweed picture, like all the ones I chose for this April challenge, is from last year. I haven't been where it was taken recently, but am sure they're not this far ahead yet.
ReplyDeleteFun tricube... and yes, it is a little sad to depart April. But I'm looking forward to all that late spring and summer bring.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured what I've been feeling too, Linda— some sadness that the NPM journey is over, but anticipation of good things to come. Thank you for all of your poetry writing and sharing this month!
ReplyDeleteFun tricube! Thanks for all your poems this month. Just lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteHa Linda, you and I are both 'grieving this departure' but of opposite seasons. I love that phrase, and your tricube is a lovely tribute to what Matt does.
ReplyDeleteAnd another month, a special one, departs-Yes-there is sadness in its departure because we all have been immersed in the poetry flow. Your work has been growing and your image poems special, especially this one, Linda.
ReplyDeleteEndings and beginnings. We look back, and then we must look forward! Here's to a great month!
ReplyDeleteLinda, this is lovely and bittersweet. And all we can ever do is make the most of today and welcome tomorrow with hello. Your posts are always filled with such grace.
ReplyDeleteThis perfectly sums up April and NPM. It's been fun, but I'm zonked! -- Christie @ https://wonderingandwondering.wordpress.com/
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI have loved your poetry and photography. You and Mary Lee pack so, so much into so few words. Absolutely gorgeous!!!
You're inspired me to plan to do a project next year. Your's has been lovely with a sad ending, but summer will bring other delights.
ReplyDeleteI love the ending of your bittersweet haiku Linda, "Hello! tomorrow" sounds like a fresh start. Those look like a field of blooming milkweed to me… My milkweed is now poking through the earth—So excited each year when they emerge! I like the fun tricube poem your wrote for Matt!
ReplyDeleteLovely post, thanks!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by. Yes, they are the marvelous blooming milkweed, hence my "Hello! tomorrow", with silky milkweed pods gathering butterflies! Remember, all the pictures are from last year, my time mostly home during the Pandemic.
