TIME TO CELEBRATE POETRY!
I have tried, most times, to create from a Wabi-Sabi perspective. I believe that at times, I created something close. Diane Mayr was kind enough to send me the book by Leonard Koren titled Wabi-Sabi, for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers, which I've read all or part of every day since I received it. I am grateful for it and the thoughtful gift from Diane. Yes, it helped me work for understanding. It is something I'll keep pondering, wandering into this new world.
Thanks to every poet who wrote, whose poems I enjoyed every day. I didn't get to all every day, but many, and it made the bumpy weather road called April a lovely month.

This poem is perfect for today, Linda! April has been a whirlwind, but I am "grieving this departure." The good news is there are always more poems to read and write! I'm sorry I missed so many of your poems this week, but I'm looking forward to catching up with them this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful poem...the sadness of goodbye to make way for new. My goodness, that really embodies wabi-sabi (or, at least my understanding of it thus far). Beautifully written.

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of creating from a place of Wabi-Sabi. I find that focusing on the joy of the act of creating, rather than the result, is really freeing creatively. Thanks for sharing your poems.

ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone. I'm trying to read a few posts, then garden on this lovely day, then off to the bookstore again! Carol, no, the milkweed picture, like all the ones I chose for this April challenge, is from last year. I haven't been where it was taken recently, but am sure they're not this far ahead yet.

ReplyDeleteHa Linda, you and I are both 'grieving this departure' but of opposite seasons. I love that phrase, and your tricube is a lovely tribute to what Matt does.

ReplyDeleteI love the ending of your bittersweet haiku Linda, "Hello! tomorrow" sounds like a fresh start. Those look like a field of blooming milkweed to me… My milkweed is now poking through the earth—So excited each year when they emerge! I like the fun tricube poem your wrote for Matt!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by. Yes, they are the marvelous blooming milkweed, hence my "Hello! tomorrow", with silky milkweed pods gathering butterflies! Remember, all the pictures are from last year, my time mostly home during the Pandemic.
