TIME TO CELEBRATE POETRY!
My Plan: I’m exploring the aesthetic of wabi-sabi, sometimes described as one that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete” in nature. I think walking out in nature this past year gave me the joy needed to keep going, so I’ve gathered photos taken since March 2020 for inspiration in composing haigas, sometimes other forms. Today, it's nature inside!
Day One:
shades up,
morning greeting –
sunshine matters

Oh it does, it does and in your smile and tenderness there is light, too. I love this nook. Do you write here much?

I write cards/letters here, Janet. This desk is where I have all the stationery! Thanks for your sweet words, & yes, sunshine is a good thing!
DeleteMy boys prefer all the shades down, all the time, and I hate it! Sunshine really does matter!! I'm all about imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Can't wait to see where this month will take you!
ReplyDeleteUgh, Carol, you must insist on one room of sunshine! Thank you!
DeleteWarm and inviting. Happy Poetry Month! (Margaret Simon)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret!
DeleteLove this idea of imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Doesn't that just define us all. And yes to sunshine greeting. Nature and poetry have been places of comfort and rejuvenation. I'm looking forward to your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julieanne. I'm excited to learn and grow in this area, too!
DeleteLinda, my small apartment has windows on all four sides. And, since it's on the top floor, there isn't much to interfere with the sun. I love all the light! Do you have Wabi-Sabi for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers by Leonard Koren? If not, let me know, somehow I ended up with two copies.
ReplyDeleteAt the bookstore all day, so late replying. It's so nice to hear about all your windows. I miss the eastern light like in this picture. The other windows that way are in bathrooms & bedrooms I don't use! No, I don't have the book you mention. May I send you a payment for mailing? Thanks for the offer, Diane!
DeleteYes, sunshine does matter! And you do spread a lot of it around!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ruth! I imagine we'll be sitting in lots of sunshine this next month!
DeleteWhat a lovely writing spot! You captured the light beautifully in this photo. Yes, sunshine matters!
ReplyDeleteThe plant looks like it's smiling. Happy Poetry Month!!
