April - Poetry Month - Day Six - A Weather Day

It's April, Poetry Month, Day Six!

The bookmark, on top of the picture above, came into the bookstore at the end of March. Often people do donate books and leave 'treasures' in them. This time, it became my own treasure and I knew what I would do for April's poetry, write about found treasures, perhaps find new places to look? Happy April!

Plus! Check each day for the added line to the Progressive Poem, created by Irene Latham, now hosted by Margaret Simon! The link is to the right!

Yesterday was full of some sprinkles, sunshine, and so much wind! I couldn't help but marvel at the constant movement. I went walking anyway and took this picture, later saw that face. Can you see it, upper left?

  1. I CAN see the face! No stillness found, indeed. It's the same here. Though it is always windy on the prairie, it is exceptionally so this week. One of the first poems I ever memorized (in 1st grade) was "Who Has Seen the Wind?" by Christina Rossetti. I still know it and recite it frequently on days like this.

    1. I am happy you can see it, too, Jane. Sometimes I see things & others cannot. This was a fun surprise for me. Gosh, I memorized "Who Has Seen the Wind?" too, just right for today, too! Thanks!

  2. This is so cool. The poem AND the photo. What drama with so much sky (and man) and so little land in this photograph!
