I wrote a week or so ago in gratitude for other gifts from Tabatha's Poetry Swap. Today, I want to thank Denise Krebs for the very personal and creative gifts she sent. She has figured out how much I love the moon and sent this box with a moon poem hidden, tucked into the underside. Isn't that terrific? Inside the box is a gorgeous new shopping bag! Denise wrote that it is from a restaurant in Carlsbad, CA, made by a relative of one of the workers there! It's lovely to receive something with a backstory! Denise also noted that she liked reading about my moon-watching on the prairie as she watched from the Mojave Desert. My son and grandson are in Seoul, Korea right now at the World Boy Scout Jamboree. I like to think that they watch the moon as I do from there!
FYI - My laptop is having a tune-up, not easy doing this on my phone! I will give it my best while commenting! (I'm slow!)

Linda, I understand how difficult it is to write a comment using an phone instead of a computer. Denise sent you a wonderful poem sharing the wonders of moon gazing from two different venues. DeleteIsn't it weird to remember a time before lap tops? Mine feels like a permanent part of my kitchen table. We are so fortunate to be in this thoughtful community of poets and poetry swappers. I just love that Denise sent you these gifts. I know even more poetry will come from them. Whoo Hooo! I'll be thinking of your dear ones in the heat--I know they know how to take care of themselves. So many scouts are struggling.
ReplyDeleteDenise is fantastically creative and thoughtful. The box she made for me in last year's swap is a thing of beauty that I keep close so I can look at it often! My brother went to the 13th Boy Scout World Jamboree in Japan in the way back!

I haven’t heard that, yet, but my grandson was hospitalized one night, given fluids because of the heat. No recent news except he was okay! Thanks, Tabatha, will check it out!

DeleteLinda, hang in there without your computer. It's amazing what one can do on their phone, but it's not easy for me. I prefer a large keyboard. ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift! And I love that your son and grandson are at a scout event in S. Korea! My son and husband just returned from Northern Tier--the trip of a lifetime. They canoed over 90 miles and mapped out a way others hadn't been in decades. So cool!
